Culture at Roberts: More than just a workplace
At Roberts, manufacturing excellence is at the heart of what we do. From delivering high-quality metal packaging solutions to investing in new technologies and capabilities, we take pride in continually moving the business forward.
But behind every order, every production run and every customer relationship is something even more important: our people.
Over the past few weeks, we’ve sat down with employees from different departments to hear their stories, learn about their careers and understand what life at Roberts is really like.
The people that make Roberts
Sales & Marketing Assistant, Valerie, who recently celebrated eight years with Roberts, describes it as more than just a workplace.
“The team make you feel like you are family here. You can talk to them, and they listen and never judge. It’s very lovely.”
Valerie’s journey is a great example of the opportunities available at Roberts. One of her initial goals was to become more confident speaking English on the phone. With ongoing support from her team and her commitment to developing her skills, she now confidently handles calls as a valued part of her day-to-day responsibilities.
“I’m proud of how much I’ve grown in my role. I’m able to work independently and make decisions with confidence, while knowing when to ask for support if I need it. I’ve learned so much and continue to build on that every day.”A strong culture isn’t just about development, it’s also about teamwork. Reflecting on times when colleagues were on holiday, Valerie recalls the support she received from teams across the business.”
“The warehouse and logistics teams have been amazing. Everyone is so supportive and always willing to help. I’ve always felt like I have the support I need.”For Valerie, it’s these people, combined with the opportunity to keep learning, that make Roberts such a rewarding place to work.

Quality, Health & Safety Manager, Firmin, also highlights the supportive culture that exists across Roberts. Reflecting on his early days with the company, he recalls settling into his role and benefiting from the guidance and experience of colleagues along the way.
One piece of advice has stayed with him. To focus on one thing at a time. By prioritising tasks and leaning on the support of those around him, he was able to build confidence in his role and develop professionally.
For Firmin, the willingness of colleagues to offer advice, guidance and support is one of the things that makes Roberts such a special place to work.

More than a company
While the roles, experiences and career journeys of our colleagues may differ, a common theme runs through every story: our team make Roberts what it is today.
Whether it’s developing new skills, sharing knowledge or supporting one another through busy periods, the strength of Roberts comes from the people behind it. It’s this culture of teamwork, respect and continuous learning that make Roberts more than just a workplace.
As we continue to grow and invest in the future, we’ll remain committed to creating an environment where our people can thrive, develop and succeed together.
